Synopsis

Raftaar Singh (Akshay Kumar), the apple of his mother's (Rati Agnihotri) eye, is also the biggest irritant for his father (Yograj Singh). He is always looking to have fun and runs away from responsibility. This displeases his father to no end. One day, fed up of his dalliances, his father orders Raftaar to go to Goa and work for his friend there, and learn to take on responsibility.

Respecting his father's wishes, Raftaar leaves. Once in Goa, he impresses his new boss with his enthusiasm and out of the box thinking. Soon he gets an important assignment from his boss which gets him to meet Sara (Amy Jackson) and thus begins their unique love story.

Raftaar is joined in this unique romance by the loveable Emily (Lara Dutta) who almost ruins their budding love. What ensues is a great comedy of errors, as one hilarious situation after another unfolds. Raftaar slowly begins to fall head over heels for this exotic, mysterious girl.

What starts as a harmless romance takes a deadly turn when he realizes that Sara is not who he thinks she is and is here with an agenda which takes him to Romania. The question is, will a village simpleton, who can't even communicate properly be able to win her over in a distant and dangerous land.

Film Singh Is Bliing is worthy to watch once for enjoying Akshay Kumar’s whacky and crazy side in !!

A successful team of Prabhudheva and Akshay Kumar had teamed up again, they had come up with the highly enjoyable Rowdy Rathore, but unluckily, the same cannot be said for their newest film Singh Is Bliing.

The film is so unsatisfactory that the few giggles are not enough to save the movie.

Singh Is Bliing spins around Raftaar Singh (Akshay Kmar), a good-for-nothing, clumsy fellow living with his joint family in Punjab. Singh's frustrated father packs him off to Goa to work with his friend's casino, where he comes across Sara (Amy Jackson), a heiress trying to escape from the clutches of a sleazy gangster Mark (Kay Kay Menon).

Of course, sparks fly but Singh doesn't know English and the fair Sara doesn't know Hindi, so an interpreter Emily (Lara Dutta) is arranged, who tries her best to create more problems between them.

Will Singh get the love of his life and save the damsel in distress from the bad guy?

At the beginning, let me warn you that if you are a fan of Akshay Kumar's action series, you might get a little saddened for apart from the climax scene, Akshay is mostly seen getting beaten up by the baddies throughout the movie. Indeed, it is Amy Jackson, who kicks butt with style.

But, the Khiladi is in top form as far as comedy is concerned and the actor shows his whacky and crazy side in this movie, which is a delight to see. Jackson sleepwalks through the movie with a single expression on her face while Lara Dutta looks unfashionable but produces a few laughs in a few scenes. Dutta does have a flair for comedy and we hope to see her in more such roles in the future. Kay Kay Menon, who plays the dodgy baddie, comes across as a villain from a cartoon and it is quite sad to see an actor of his talent in such roles.

The movie has its instants, but in general, the humour is fairly slapstick and loud. We agree that comedies do not need to always follow to logic, but running away from it is taking things a bit too far. Some of the humorous scenes seem to have been lifted straight from the 'Santa-Banta' joke book collection. Prabhudheva takes delight in complicating the plot for no apparent reason with needless back-stories about his characters.

The movie is visually quite pleasant and colorful but the music is ordinary, apart from theTung Tung Baje track at the beginning of the movie. Singh Is Bling is not Prabhu's supreme work but the only solace is that it is not a bad film.

Overall, it is worthy to watch once for enjoying Akshay Kumar’s whacky and crazy side in the movie.
